Specialized production – customized solutions


Customization
Sperre has specialized its production of heat exchangers to enable customized solutions based on standard heat exchanger models. We have advanced computer programs for calculating the thermal performance of our heat exchangers effectively and accurately.
Dimensions
Sperre offers more than 200 standard models of shell and tube heat exchangers with cooling surfaces from 0.2 to 350 m2. The outer physical measurements are limited to a diameter of 1 m and a length of 4 m.


Pressure classes
Sperre supplies shell and tube heat exchangers with design pressures ranging from 10 to 100 bar depending on size. All of our heat exchangers are hydrostatically pressure-tested, and supplied with a pressure test certificate.
Documentation
Documentation compliant with the customer's specifications or the classification company's requirements is routinely included with each delivery, and all our standard shell and tube heat exchangers have type approval from all the marine classification companies. ( DNV, ABS, GL, MRS, RINA, BV, etc.)

Materials

Sperre has a wealth of experience in working with special material types, and our highly qualified technical personnel can advise on appropriate materials for even the most demanding operating conditions. We supply shell and tube heat exchangers in the following materials:

  • Tubes – Al/brass, CuNi 90/10, CuNi 70/30, carbon steel, stainless steel and titanium
  • Tube plates – Munz metal, carbon steel, stainless steel and titanium
  • Baffles – Munz metal, carbon steel, stainless steel and titanium
  • Shell – Carbon steel, low-temperature steel and stainless steel
  • Water boxes – Cast iron, bronze, carbon steel, stainless steel and titanium



Applications

Sperre produces shell and tube heat exchangers for the following purposes:

Coolers
Oil coolers for lube oils, hydraulic oils and thermal oils. Freshwater coolers for main engines and auxiliary engines. Coolers for exhaust gases from diesel engines in Ex areas.

Preheaters
Freshwater preheaters for process facilities and central heating systems. Seawater or fresh-water preheaters for tank-cleaning and for heating swimming pools, for example on cruise vessels. Oil preheaters for thermal oils, diesel oils and heavy fuel oils. Preheaters for LPG. Cargo heaters for chemicals in transport.

Condensers and evaporators
Steam condensers for dumping steam. Condensers and evaporators for refrigeration facilities, such as ammonia and freon condensers.
